    The city of Antalya is the capital of Antalya Province and is situated on the Gulf of Antalya on the Mediterranean coast of turkey. The population of the city is about 600,000 people but in the summer when tourism is up it can reach the 2 million mark. The city of Antalya sits on a cliff that is surrounded by many mountains, woods and the Mediterranean Sea. There are many great ruins located in the city, a great tourist attraction. The city also is home to one of the most famous archaeological museums in the world.

The economy of Antalya is tourism, agriculture, commerce and industry. The city itself has a very wide range of agricultural production from cotton to flowers. The population quickly rose and more people came and more industry came as well but the main income sources are tourism and agriculture.

Transportation around Antalya is plentiful. There is the Antalya International Airport; it connects the city to most capitals in the world. There are buses that are located in every city in the country and of course there is a ferry if you wish to go off and explore the islands in the Mediterranean Sea. If you are looking to get around in the city portions of Antalya there are buses that go through the city, the Dolmus which is a large cab or minibus that goes along a specific route like a bus. Antalya has taxis and tramways. The Tram will cover the area in the west and go through the east on the main boulevard.

The Konyaalti and Lara coasts are known for having the cleanest sea in the entire Mediterranean region. The great amount of rocks that form there built a purification of the sea. The climate is great for tourism, in the summer it is hot and virtually no rain in the summer. In the winter months it is rainy and mild. 300 days out of the year are sunny in Antalya. The water temperature in the summer is approximately 29 degrees Celsius which converts to 85 degrees Fahrenheit and in the winter it is about 17 degrees Celsius and 63 degrees Fahrenheit.

The city of Antalya has changed into a culture and tourist spot with hotels, historical sites located both in and around the city. The beaches are absolutely beautiful, the Konyaalti Beach Park and Lara Beach has great beach clubs and bars located within the beach area. The nightlife is extraordinary; the city of Antalya is one of the hottest spots in Turkey. There are many bars and clubs to go to.

If you actually want to see some sites and not the beach or the nightlife, Antalya has many points of interest. You can see the sites of Kaleici, Antalya Museum, Hadrian’s Gate, Yovli Minare, Kesik Minare, are just some the historic sites you can visit while in Antalya. Other great points of interest are Lara Beach Park, Karpuzkaldiran, Duden Falls, Manavgat Waterfall, Salient Ski Resort and Kursunlu Falls.
