There are so many great places to eat here in Turkey; it may be hard to choose what restaurant is the best. We have featured some restaurants and maybe one will stand out when you are on vacation and you may want to eat there. The first place to eat is called the Haci Abdullah; this eatery claims to be the oldest restaurant in Istanbul. It is bright and freshly painted. There are three rooms to dine in; each room has a modern contemporary look to it. The best room in the place is the back room it has beautiful pink colors and a skylight with an old glittery chandelier.
There is an English menu that does list many selections of Turkish and Ottoman fare. There is also a display of preserved pickles and fruits that liven up the eatery entrance. The desserts are great, try the Kunefe, it is simply awesome. The Ulus restaurant has a French inspired menu that most people with money to spend come here. But they come to be seen as big shots and to flash their money and not to eat. The décor is colorful old carpets and a narrow corridor that gives the restaurant some charm. On the summer months you can eat outdoors in a garden terrace. The terraces have fabulous views of the Bosporus.
The Park Sandan is a restaurant that offers traditional Turkish fare. It is located in the center of Istanbul. The eatery specializes in classic dishes with a continental twist. The appetizers are out of this world and the main courses are outstanding and of course the desserts are to die for., the pastries and the panna cotta with raspberry sauce is purely heaven. This restaurant is very highly recommended.
Feriye Restaurant, this eatery is located were the Ottoman sultan’s palatial grounds. They have high shores of the Bosporus Strait. Ottoman cuisine is the popular fare here. The owner has authentic recipes written in Arabic from back in the day, he could not read them so he took up Arabic just to learn to read these delightful recipes. They offer classical Turkish fare as well. The Amedros eatery has a romantic atmosphere with candle light tables that are set up on the pavement in an attempt to catch a nice cool breeze.
At Amedros, they have an atmosphere for every season, in the wintertime, the guests can sit inside while a fire blazes and they offer Ottoman and European cuisine. Come in and try a great tasting appetizer, choose something to compliment your trip to the country for dinner and something sweet for dessert. There are so many places to eat in the country of Turkey, if you aren’t sure where you should eat ask someone in your hotel they may be able to ask around and suggest someplace nice. If you aren’t sure about Turkish Food ask the concierge at the hotel if there is some place where you can get some international foods.
